It is time for Lawnmower Racing again. This past weekend May 4, we had a play day in Phillipsburg to check out the new track and it was well attended. The track is located 4 West and 2 North of Glade Or west of Phillipsburg to 300 rd then south 3 miles to union rd. We will be racing in Plainville, Natoma, and Phillipsburg, look for schedules. First race will be in Plainville on May 18 at 6:00 p.m. We are trying Kids go karts this year to help get the kids involved, We have 10, 49 cc karts   on the way, Will try to have one night planned to put them together and have them ready for the track May 18. The Crowd surely will enjoy watching young kids getting out there on the track and trying something new.

Insurance was discussed for the Club, Motion passed that we have Allied Ins. @$1,500.oo a year; Charlie 2nd the motion. Michelle was to get in touch with Allied this week. This insurance will cover the Club where ever we race.

Schedules were tentatively decided on- 9 total races 3 races in each town of Plainville, Natoma & Phillipsburg.

Ad Sales for our posters will be sold for $40.00 per ad, $75.00 per sponsor. We need to start selling ASAP, aprox. 38 ads need to be sold to cover the cost of our insurance. Jill will be in charge of ads sales. Get in touch with her if you sell any, she can get you a receipt

This year we are charging $5.00 per racer, 5 & Under free.

Go Karts are going to be a new item this year for the young ones to race, age group 5-12.

There is mandatory neck braces for insurance  purposes.

A new class is Outlaw/Modifides, using Kinsleys rules.

Alan thought about a Mid-Summer Pow-Wow maybe in LaCrosse, and get as many racers as we could, everybody would help out in any area, flagmen, counters, announcing, Pit, etc. We’ll discuss at a later date, if you have any comments, let one of the officers know.

If anyone interested in buying a Go Kart, talk to Alan, he can get a price break if more than one is purchased. A Go Kart is normally $325.00  each.

We discussed having hamburgers/hot dogs after each race, and having a free will donation.

Michelle mentioned that it would be a good idea if there were 1st Responders, EMT’s, Fireman, Fire Extenguishers, water available at every race. There are already EMT’s & Firemen in our club. Michelle asked Brenda, since she is an EMT, if she would have the last word as to whether or not have the injured person transported or not, and she agreed that she would.

A cool, windy, and gloomy day for racing last Sunday. It was still a good race day. The track at Plainville was in very good shape.
Alan Dinkel #54d had a very good day, finishing 1st in all the Super Modified races. James Babcock #43 had a bad spill in the heat race, destroying the nose of his machine. James was not injured and did continue racing with his beat up mower.
Alan Dinkel #54a won the Super Stock heat & feature races. Cassidy Guethe #4m won the dash.

A club meeting was held after the races. We elected new board members and changed the name of the association. Starting Jan. 1, 2008 we will be Mowfast Racing Association, with Alan Dinkel as President, Jill Tucker as Treasurer, and Brenda Schumacher  as Secretary. Also Steve Mathews and Brad Bates will be the Chief Tech Inspectors. Congratulations and thanks to you all.
